How to Mail As PDF Using Adobe Live Cycle Designer

    Using a Submit Button

    • 1). Open the LiveCycle Form Designer PDF file that you want to send as an email.

    • 2). Drag a button object down into the form from the "Objects" menu. The objects palette appears on the right side of the application.

    • 3). Click on the “Field” tab from the objects palette, and then click the “Submit” option from the “Control Type” field.

    • 4). Click on the “Submit” tab and then click on the drop-down menu next to the “Submit Format” field. Click on the “PDF” option.

    • 5). Enter “mailto:” followed by the email address you want the form sent to in the “Submit to URL” text box.

    • 6). Click on the “File” option and then click on “Save As." Click the option to save the form as a PDF, and click on the “Save” button.

    • 7). Open the Adobe Acrobat application on your computer and then click on “File” from the top menu. Click on the “Open” option and then locate the PDF form you saved. Click on the form and then click the “Open” button. If you don't have Acrobat, purchase it from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/.

    • 8). Click on the “Advanced” menu option and then click the “Enable Usage Rights in Reader” option. A pop-up message asks you to save the form.

    • 9). Click the “Save” button and your form can be emailed whenever a user clicks on the “Submit” button.

    Emailing As Attachment

    • 1). Open the Adobe LiveCycle Designer file that you want to send as an email.

    • 2). Click on the “File” option from the top toolbar menu and then click on the “Save” option.

    • 3). Enter a name for your file into the “File name” field. Click on the “Static PDF Form File” option from the “Save as type” drop-down menu.

    • 4). Locate the folder on your computer where you can to save the file and click on the folder. Click on the “Save” button.

    • 5). Sign into the email account that you want to use to send the file. Click the option on your email to send an attachment or create a new email and click the attachment button.

    • 6). Click on the Adobe LiveCycle Designer PDF file that you saved. Complete your email and hit "Send" to send the PDF as an attachment in your email.
