A vehicle's exhaust system is designed to control the flow of exhaust gases away from the engine. Exhaust systems are designed to meet three basic needs: price, performance and sound presence. Exhaust tips are installed on the tailpipes and may not only create additional styling, but also may be used to alter the sound profile of the exhaust system. Dual exhaust tips have a single tailpipe connection and provide two outlets for the exhaust gases. MagnaFlow produces stainless steel dual exhaust tips designed for installation on virtually any exhaust tailpipe. - Double wall tips are made from two tubes of metal (for each tip). The metal is bent and joined to provide a more refined look. Due to the added expense and extra metal required, double wall dual tips are more expensive than single wall dual tips.
- Rolled end DTM tips are turned upwards, simulating the style commonly found on the European Race Touring circuit. Both tips on the dual DTM tip are turned upward as a style feature. The rolled end allows the edge of the tailpipe to maintain a high shine.
- Rolled-oval-straight dual tips are designed to be installed inline with the tailpipe. Oval in shape, the end of the dual tips is at a 90 degree angle to the horizontal plane of the tips. Rolled ends provide additional styling and shine to the edges of the exhaust tips.
- Rolled-round tips are similar to oval tips, with the only difference being the shape of the exhaust tip. Rolled ends also provide styling and shine.
- These round dual tips are angle cut to provide additional styling. While the exhaust tips are inline with the tailpipe, the angle cut gives the appearance of having a slight downward facing exhaust.
- The cubical shape of the rolled-square-straight dual tips is notable when looking into the exhaust tips. The square exhaust tip end is rolled to provide styling and shine.
- These tips are turned upward and are cylindrical in shape. The end of the tips are not rolled, which means the metal cut is visible, though it is polished to a high shine.
- The double wall large tip is available in sizes larger than the typical exhaust system's piping. Installable on standard tailpipe sizes, the large tip quickly increases in diameter to a much greater size. Both exhaust tips are equivalent and dual walled for additional styling.
