- 1). Place liquid laundry detergent in a washing machine. Follow the detergent's label for the amount to use based on the size of the wash load. Shark advises against using powdered laundry detergent. The powder may leave residue on the pads' microfiber and inhibit the pads' cleaning ability.
- 2). Put your Shark steamer pads in the washing machine. Shark advises washing the steamer pads alone. Otherwise, they may pick up lint from other laundry items. To avoid wasting water, wash several Shark steamer pads together.
- 3). Set the washing machine to a wash cycle. The specific cycle and water temperature do not matter. Let the washing machine complete the wash cycle.
- 4). Dry the steamer pads. Shark recommends air-drying the pads. If you need them in a hurry, occasionally you may dry them in a clothes dryer set to its lowest temperature.
