- 1). Cut each ribbon into 8-12 inch lengths.
- 2). Run the cut edges of the ribbon through the flame of the lighter for a very short amount of time to burn the raw edge of the ribbon and prevent fraying.
- 3). Sort the ribbons by color. Place the stacks of ribbon in the order of use.
- 4). Pick up a ribbon from the first stack and tie it in a knot around the ponytail holder. Try to tie it so the length of ribbon extending from the ponytail holder is about even on either side.
- 5). Pick up a ribbon from the next stack and tie it to the ponytail holder in the same way. Push it up tight to the first ribbon and continue doing this until the ponytail holder is completely covered with ribbons.
