- 1). Press your computer's power button, and then press and hold the F8 button. You must press F8 before the Windows logo appears. Windows will then display the Advanced Boot Options screen.
- 2). Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll down to the Safe Mode option, and then press Enter. Your computer will now boot in Safe Mode. Safe Mode boots up your computer with limited functionality, allowing the system to bypass any possible sources of the blue screen.
- 3). Troubleshoot the problem causing the blue-screen error.
- 1). Shut down your computer and then repeat Section 1, Step 1.
- 2). Select "Repair Your Computer" and then press Enter when the Advanced Boot Options Screen is displayed. Choose your preferred keyboard layout and then click "Next."
- 3). Click "Startup Repair," and then follow the on-screen instructions to detect and resolve any system problems which may be causing the blue-screen error.
