How to Take a Walk to Relieve Stress
- 1). Put on a pair of comfortable walking shoes. If you want to relieve stress, you will need to keep your feet comfy.
- 2). Grab your MP3 player and set it to some of your favorite tunes. If you would rather listen to the environment, skip the MP3 player and hit the bricks.
- 3). Walk down your sidewalk and let your worries fall away. Focus on what is in front of you and enjoy the fresh air, sunlight and interesting sights around your neighborhood.
- 4). Force yourself to slow down. It's easy to rush when you're stressed, but slowing your walk helps you relax.
- 5). Take deep, slow breaths. A stress-relief walk is more about creating peace than about burning calories, so focus on creating inner calm.
