How to Auto-Tune on Soundbooth CS4

104 33

Instructions

1

Open the recording you want to edit, then open the Editor tool.
2

Highlight a section of the song that you want to pitch shift. If you want to adjust a particular note in the vocal recording to manipulate the melody, click and drag to select the part of the waveform that plays that note.
3

Select the "Processes" tab and click "Change Pitch and Timing." Adjust the pitch sliders up or down to shift the tone of the vocal recording.
4

Click "Solo Instrument or Voice." If you want your edits to sound natural, check the "Preserve Speech Characteristics" box. If you want your edit to achieve the robotic, exaggerated "Auto-Tune" effect of many popular modern R&B recordings, leave this box unchecked.
5

Click the "Preview" button. Continue to make adjustments until you are satisfied with the note, before you move on to select and adjust the individual pitches for the remainder of the melody.
