How to Fix a Windows XP Start Up Problem
- 1). Start your computer.
- 2). Press the "F8" key until you see the advanced start up options.
- 3). Use the arrow key to select the "Safe mode with a Command prompt" option and then press "Enter."
- 4). Use the arrow key to select the version of Windows XP to restore (if you have multiple versions installed) and then press "Enter."
- 5). Key in the administrator user name and password, and then press "Enter."
- 6). At the command prompt, type "%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" without quotation marks and press "Enter."
- 7). Click on "Restore my computer to earlier time" and then click "Next."
- 8). Select a "Restore point" to restore Windows XP to and then click "Next."
- 9). Review the selected restore point and then click on "Next." Wait for the process to complete and then restart your computer.
