- 1). Click "Start" in the bottom left hand corner of the windows screen. When the Start menu launches, click "Run" at the bottom of the menu.
- 2). Type "cd/Windows/System32" into your Run menu. Click "OK". You will receive a black screen with a command prompt.
- 3). Open up the Notepad program. Enter the following three lines (as separate lines) in Notepad:
taskkill -IM wgatray.exe
del wgatray.exe
del wgalogon.old - 4). Select the first line and copy it. Enter the first lines in the command prompt and click enter. Then, repeat the process with the second and third lines. After you have completed the process with the third line, the Windows Genuine Prompts should be disabled.
