    Skiing and Snowboarding

    • There are two areas to ski in Steamboat Springs --Howelsen Hill Ski Area and Steamboat Ski Resort. With 165 trails and a premier superpipe, it's easy to see why Steamboat Ski Resort is often called Ski Town U.S.A. And Howelsen Hill is known as the training ground for many Olympic skiers. Steamboat's signature champagne powder is perhaps the biggest reason that visitors from around the world make it a destination.

    Rodeos

    • Steamboat has hosted rodeos since 1897, and the spirit of the West remains alive. The Steamboat Springs ProRodeo Series continues the tradition every Friday and Saturday night in the summer. Professional cowboys compete for money and prestige.

    Western Wear Shopping

    • Get your cowboy hat and belt buckle at one of the many gift shops in town. There are more than 250 shops within Steamboat Springs' downtown area and Mountain Village. A free bus provides transportation between these two shopping areas.

    Hot Springs

    • It may be quite chilly on the slopes, but you will warm up quickly as you dip your feet in to the natural hot springs in Steamboat. There are more than 150 hot springs in the area. There is even a walking tour for guests to visit multiple hot spring locations.

    Snowcat Tours

    • Divide into groups based on ability and desired terrain then hop on board the guided snowcat to travel across Buffalo Pass. This 10,000-acre powdered terrain receives the greatest amount of snowpack annually in Colorado. There are eight to 16 runs available throughout the day for ski enthusiasts to ride. The shuttle provides complimentary skis as well as transportation to your place of stay.

    Snowmobiling

    • Steamboat offers about 150 miles of trails for snowmobiles to explore. Join an official guide for a comprehensive tour of Rabbit Ears Pass, the Flat Tops and the Upper Elk River Valley. Packaged tours also include fees for vehicle rental and required equipment.
