Philadelphia is the "city of brotherly love" and that most certainly means getting together for a friendly drink at some of the famous Philadelphia bars. The best bars in Philadelphia are right on the waterfront. Philadelphia is on the Delaware river just a few miles from where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean, and Philly has a long maritime history. The Philadelphia waterfront drinking establishments are as eclectic as the people of Philadelphia--spanning the spectrum from working class bars to four-star lounges.

    Cavanaugh's River Deck

    • Cavanaugh's River Deck is the summer fun hot spot in Philadelphia--with six bars, DJ's every night, and an outdoor dance floor. Its amazing variety of unique cocktails, includes mango and guava stingers and chocolate martinis, and a delicious pub menu. There is an unusual dress code--no white T-shirts ever, no hats, T-shirts, or sunglasses on Fridays or Saturdays, and no high heels.

    Moshulu

    • The Moshulu cafe-restaurant-bar is right on he water--literally. The establishment is a beautifully restored 1904 four-masted sailing ship. The menu features Kobe beef, duck, seafood, local ingredients, vegetarian menus, kosher menus and customized allergy menus. The bar features drinks from around the world. The Moshulu is elegant four star dining with a breathtaking view of the Delaware river and easy access to Penn's Landing night life. The Sunday champagne brunch (with chocolate fountain) rivals the most luxurious cruse ship brunches for sheer opulent splendor. This is an exciting place to meet a friend for a drink, and an impressive place to take an out of town client.

    Maggie's Waterfront Cafe

    • Maggie's Waterfront Cafe is a charming blend of an Irish Pub and a seafood cafe. It is a great place to enjoy some seafood and beers with friends at the end of the day or the end of the week. Beer is the most popular drink but you can get a wide variety of cocktails and other drinks--especially Irish drinks. The crab cakes are the best in Philly and the crab soup and crab legs are also excellent. Music, dancing, local DJs, and celebrity bartenders make Maggie's a fun place to be.
