      Globus is a travel agency that provides travel packages and guided tours to destinations worldwide. It has been in business since 1928 and has won a number of awards, including "Travel Weekly Magazine"'s 2009 Reader's Choice Award for best tour operator in Europe. If you are planning to travel to Ireland, Globus has a number of guided tour packages to choose from. Accommodations, tour transportation, and some meals are included but air fare is not.     Introduction to Ireland

    • This eight-day package takes visitors to several of Ireland's better-known attractions, as well as rural destinations. The tour begins in Dublin and will take you to cities such as Limerick, Killarney, and Waterford. Along the way, you'll visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, gaze over the Cliffs of Moher, visit a working sheep farm, take a ferry to the Ring of Kerry, and, if you're so inclined, kiss the Blarney Stone.     Emerald Isle

    • This 11-day package begins with a guided tour of some of the highlights of Dublin. You will then head for destinations such as Longford's Strokestown House, where you'll learn about the Great Famine of 1840. After viewing the Cistercian Abbey ruins in Boyle and other sites along the way, you'll head for Galway. From there, you'll take a ferry to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. A local historian will provide insight into the residents' daily life before you board a bus for a tour around the island. After returning to Galway, you'll continue on to Limerick, Killarney, and Waterford. Prices for this package range from $1,749 to $1,779.

    Legacy of St. Patrick

    • This is a faith-based package and may be of particular interest to Roman Catholics. The 10-day tour begins in Dublin with a visit to St. Patrick's Cathedral. You'll travel to the shrine at Knock, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared in 1879. In Knock, you'll visit the Church of the Apparition and possibly have the opportunity to join a rosary procession. Your tour will also include a stop at the Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre in Murrisk, a ferry trip to Inishmore, and visits to the Ring of Kerry and the Blarney Stone. Before returning to Dublin, you'll stop at the visitors' center in Glendalough, the site of a 6th-century monastery, and see an audio-visual presentation on the monasteries of Ireland. The price for this package is $ 1,799.

    Scenic Ireland

    • This 13-day package will take you from Dublin to Belfast with stops at many sites in between. Destinations include Kilkenny, Blarney, Waterford, Knock, and the Ring of Kerry. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy a cooking demonstration at Ballyknocken House, a tour of Belleek Pottery, and a visit to the grave of poet W.B. Yeat's in Drumcliff. The tour will take you north to Derry and Belfast before your return to Dublin. Prices for this package range from $2,049 to $2,239.
