There is a "hardgainer" in each one of us. A person might either burn calories so fast that there will be less of him to bulk or a person might not be able to burn calories fast enough for him not to get fat. The issue here is whether it is better to eat less than eat more to gain mass.
Skinny and slender individuals will never ever build mass if they continue to be thin. For hardgainers there is a need to put on some meat in order to bulk and develop muscles. In the long run it is better for a person to eat more and then consequently train like crazy to build up his muscles. No matter how hard or how great a training program is, it would prove useless for a hardgainer if he does not gain mass and weight.
An effective workout session should not last longer than an hour. Any weight training in excess of 60 minutes will naturally deplete the stored carbohydrates and fats in the muscles and liver. Glycogen, the fuel of the body will also be exhausted.

It should be noted than most easy gainers will not have difficulty recovering from a six-day split training regimen.
