- 1). Get a clear waterproof container or one that allows light to filter through. You could use a glass jar with a lid or a beach valuables container.
- 2). Close the container of your choice and submerge it in water. Take it back out and check to see that no water was able to get inside.
- 3). Place an LED flashlight inside the container. Make sure it is one that emits a fairly bright light.
- 4). Turn the light on, then close the container.
- 5). Attach a fishing line or cord to the outside of the container. For a glass jar, tie fishing line or a very thin cord around the mouth of the jar before putting the lid on. For a waterproof valuables container, tie your line to the clip or loop that usually comes with the container. The length of the line depends on how deep you want to fish. It is better to have more than less, so you should probably use at least 20 or 30 feet.
- 6). Submerge the light in water to ensure that it is still waterproof. If so, your fish light is complete.
