    • 1). Lay a bright orange sweatshirt on your work surface, measure the center length from the bottom of the shirt to just under the collar and measure the same length on a piece of white felt. Cut two 2-inch wide strips of the felt, using the length measurement from the sweatshirt.

    • 2). Use the same measurement to cut two 1-inch wide strips using the yellow felt and cut out the strips. Lay the wrong side of the strips on the scratchy side of a sheet of iron-on adhesive, like Wonder Under, and use straight pins to attach all four felt strips to the sheet. Cut out the Wonder Under in the exact shape of the strips.

    • 3). Press a hot iron onto the felt pieces and hold the iron in place, following the directions on the Wonder Under packaging, to permanently adhere the Wonder Under to the strips. Allow the strips to cool, peel the paper carefully from the back of the strip (the webbing adhesive remains on the fabric) and use the hot iron to adhere the strips to the center front of the bright orange sweatshirt, following Wonder Under directions. Leave a 1/2- or 1/4-inch space between each strip and position the strips placing the two white 2-inch strips separating the center line of the shirt and the two 1-inch yellow strips on both sides.

    • 4). Repeat the measuring, cutting and ironing method to attach a horizontally oriented white strip along the bottom of the sweatshirt and vertically on both the right and left sides of the sweatpants legs.

    • 5). Draw and cut a five pointed star from both the remaining white felt and the yellow felt. Create two identical stars and place them over the remaining Wonder Under. Cut Wonder Under pieces to match the shapes exactly, press the felt over the scratchy side of the Wonder Under, cool and peel the paper backing off.

    • 6). Position the yellow star on the front of the bright orange winter hat, toward the brim. Press with a hot iron. Lay the white star over the yellow star ensuring that the points of the white star are between the points of the yellow one and press with a hot iron to adhere.

    • 7). Paint a three-dimensional rectangle cardboard box with gray paint and cut out two 6-inch construction paper circles. Allow the paint to dry before gluing the circles, one to each end of one side of the box, to appear as a boom box. If the box is small, reduce the size of the circles. Use paper scraps to design, cut out and glue boom box controls, sliders and dials.

    • 8). Flatten a paper towel tube, bend it approximately three inches from each end and glue the paper towel tube to one long, thin side of the rectangular box to be used as the boom box handle. Paint the handle with gray paint and allow it to dry.
