  Misawa is a coastal city located on the pacific coast of eastern Aomori, Tohoku Japan and is home to the Misawa Air Base, a large military base. It also serves as a US base for signal intelligence and thus also houses many American military personnel and their families. The climate is cold with heavy snowfalls and the city is a hub for the regional industry and commerce.
