Plus-Size Cross Dressing Fashion

101 7
If you've been blessed with a petite frame and manage to find well-fitting clothes easily, then count yourself lucky!  The majority of cross dressers aren't quite as fortunate.  Instead, they face an ongoing challenge of being able to find fashionable clothes that are not only large enough to fit them, but also lend themselves well to their manly proportions.

The great news for cross dressers is that half of the women in the US are a size 14 plus.  In recent years, this has certainly made designers sit up and take note.  This recognition of the 'plus size' market means that there is now a bigger choice of larger-sized women's clothes than ever before.

Now, before you make a mad dash for the shops, here are some top tips for you to bear in mind:

Support

Good quality, well-fitting foundation garments are absolutely key in helping you feel comfortable and look great.  Resist the temptation to skimp on this area and spend some time looking into finding the best that your money can buy.  Your investment will definitely pay off.

Know Your Body Shape

It's pointless spending hours shopping for clothes if you don't know what will work best for your body shape.  There are seven different body types - diamond, triangle, rectangle, oval, hourglass, inverted triangle and figure eight.  There is no right or wrong, and no body type is best.  But if you know your body type, you can make sure that you select clothing that is most flattering to you.  This way, you'll always look your best.

Colors

Depending on your coloring, some colors will look great on you and some will look awful.  Take a little time to work out what looks best and stick to it, especially when you're just starting to build up your wardrobe.  Once you have gained a little confidence, you can start experimenting with other colors.

Fabric Texture and Print

Clingy, stretchy fabrics such as polyester are generally no good for the cross dresser.  You should always try to go for a heavier fabric that will keep its shape.  It may also be a good idea to keep away from horizontal stripes.  They can be fine in certain circumstances, but unless you really know what you're doing, just try to avoid them.

Shape and fit are generally much more important than color, texture and pattern.  Larger ladies tend to choose loose fitting clothes, thinking they'll hide their lumps and bumps.  The truth is that they just make you look bigger.  Instead, you should choose clothes that have good structure and fitting.  Even if you don't have a great figure, well-fitting clothes can really help to create one.

Items that look great on larger women include wide-leg trousers, V-neck sweaters or tops and A-line skirts.

Accessories

Pay attention to proportion when it comes to choosing your jewelry and bag.  If you're a large lady, don't go for itsy bitsy accessories as they will make you look bigger.

Taking these points into consideration will ensure that you have a great cross dressing shopping experience, every time.
