How to Make and Print Your Own Campaign Cards
- 1). Start your campaign off with a design template already created in Publisher by opening the program, clicking "Publications for Print" and selecting "Postcards." Scroll through the submenu options such as "Sale," "Special Offer," "Event" or "Informational." Double-click a postcard and it opens in the Publisher workspace.
- 2). Click your cursor on the postcard's headline, which becomes highlighted. Type your announcement over top of the placeholder text and use the text toolbar at the top of the page to change the font, size and color to your satisfaction.
- 3). Right-click the placeholder logo on the page and select "Change Picture." Click "From File" and browse to your company's digital logo on your computer. Double-click the file and it appears on the card.
- 4). Click into the other placeholder text information on the card, such as the contact details; replace placeholder text with your own store address, hours of operation, the way to contact you and information about the campaign.
- 5). If you like, change the color formatting of the card to match your own store or organization by clicking the "Color Schemes" link on the "Postcard Options" panel on the left side of the screen. Scroll through the color families and double-click one; it automatically updates the card on the Publisher workspace.
- 1). Use a Word card template to save time making campaign cards by opening the program, clicking "File" and selecting "New." When the "New Document" panel opens, type "postcard" into the "Search online for" box and click "Go."
- 2). Scroll through the results and click a link to view a card preview; click the "Download" button for the card to open in your Word workspace.
- 3). Highlight and type directly over the top of all the placeholder and generic text on the card, replacing it with information about your campaign sale, service drive or other important details.
- 4). Add more text to the card by positioning your cursor in the white space and starting to type. Highlight the words and use the text toolbar at the top of the page to change the formatting.
- 5). Add your logo to the card by pulling down the "Insert" menu, clicking "Picture" and selecting "From File." Browse to the card's location on your computer and double-click the file; it appears on the card.
- 1). Create a campaign card from scratch with Photoshop by opening the program and clicking "File," then "New." Name the file "CampaignCard" and set your preferred dimensions, such as 5 inches by 3 inches. Click "CMYK Color" under "Mode" and "White" under "Contents," then click "OK" and a blank card opens in the workspace.
- 2). Click the "Type" tool, which looks like a "T" and select a font, size and color from the toolbar at the top of the screen. Position your cursor over the card and type the campaign announcement information. Change font, size and color as preferred to call attention to certain information.
- 3). Give the card an eye-catching background by clicking the "Paint Bucket" tool, pulling down the "Fill" menu at the top of the screen and selecting "Pattern." Click inside the "Pattern" box and select a background design such as checkerboard or bubbles. Reduce the "Opacity" slider box down to 25 percent.
- 4). Hover your cursor over the white space of the "CampaignCard" box until you see the paint bucket, then click inside the space, which fills with the background design for the card; the design is filled in behind your text, not over the top of it.
- 1). Turn on your printer and load in cardstock. From any of the programs used to create the campaign cards, pull down the "File" menu and click "Print."
- 2). Select your printer from the default options.
- 3). Print a test card to make sure it appears as you planned. Next, nudge the "Number of copies" or "Copies" input box up to the number of campaign cards to print; this should be equal to or less than the number of pages of card stock in the tray. Click the "Print" button to print the cards.
