In September of every year, hundreds of classic cars arrive in Springfield for the International Route 66 Mother Road Festival. The event is held downtown, where car owners display their antique cars, hot rods, and classic automobiles and motorcycles along the streets. Spectators can view the cars on display, talk to the owners, listen to live music, visit street vendors and take in the sights of historic downtown Springfield. This three-day event truly is "the mother of all festivals" for car enthusiasts of all ages.
