- 1). Insert your Windows XP CD into your computer's CD drive.
- 2). Open the Run dialog by clicking "Start" and "Run."
- 3). Open the hidden Windows system "Inf" directory by typing "%systemroot%\inf" into the Run dialog box and pressing "Enter."
- 4). Scroll down in the Windows Explorer window and locate the file named "Srchasst.inf."
- 5). Right-click "Srchasst.inf" and click "Install."
