How To Profit From Selling Hurdle Races
Now the National Hunt season is getting into full swing, Ill reveal a simple method I use each season to make myself some excellent profits. It won't throw up loads of bets and the winners are not always big prices, but profits a profit and this method has never failed me over the course of a full season.
This method concentrates on the form produced in selling hurdle races. Most average punters... and we are not your average punter;-) consider that the form of selling races is not worth considering.... but we know different.
If a horse wins a race by a wide margin there is no telling how much improvement is possible. This applies as much to a Group 1 race of the highest value at Cheltenham to a lowly seller at Fakenham on a wet and windy Wednesday afternoon in the middle of January... not much fun I can tell you; I've been there! If you are tempted to go, I would recommend the highest-grade thermal underwear and full hip flask of the finest whisky to see you through.... anyway I digress...
The only difference between the high-grade races and the lowly seller is little notice will be taken of the result of the selling race, leaving a decent betting opportunity for us.
Rules:
Only consider horses, which have won a selling hurdle race. DO NOT CONSIDER SELLING CHASES...YOU WILL LOSE CASH!
You should assess any selling hurdle race be it a Novice Seller, a Handicap Seller or Non Handicap Seller. Having found your selling race you should check to see the distance by which the winner beat the second home. If the distance was 8 lengths or greater you should list this horse and back it in a any future HURDLE race once next time out only. The type of hurdle race is immaterial. DO NOT BACK THE HORSE IF ITS NEXT RACE IS A CHASE.
Finally, if you wish to improve the ratio of winners to runner back only horses, which have won, by 15 lengths or more.
Good Luck!
