    • 1). Contact the human resources (HR) department of the company in Egypt you are visiting and then have a representative from the department write a letter of invitation, if you are applying for an entry visa. The letter must state the purpose and duration of your trip. In addition, the company must agree to assume all financial responsibility during your stay in the country in the letter.

    • 2). Make copies of the following, if you are not a U.S. citizen: your immigration document, such as your green card, or a U.S. visa and a confirmed travel itinerary and/or round-trip ticket.

    • 3). Get a 2-inch by 2-inch color or black and white passport-sized photo taken of you by visiting any professional photo processing center, such as Walgreens Photo Center or a United States Postal Service (USPS) office.

    • 4). Download a Visa Application Form by visiting the Embassy of Egypt in Washington, DC, homepage.

    • 5). Print the application, and complete the form by hand.

    • 6). Affix your passport photo in the box provided on the top right-hand corner.

    • 7). Get a money order for the visa-processing fee. The money order must be made payable to the Embassy/Consulate of Egypt with jurisdiction over your state of residence; as of April 2010, this fee is $15 for citizens of Russia, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Cyprus, Guinea, Germany and the United States.

If you are not from one of these nations, the "Fees Visa" page on the Embassy of Egypt homepage displays the required fee for those from other countries.

    • 8). Mail your application and supporting documents, including your valid passport, via certified mail to the Egyptian embassy/consulate that has jurisdiction over your state of residence. A self-addressed stamped envelope with tracking must accompany your application.

    • 9). Expect to have your visa processed within two business days upon the receipt of your application. Once your visa is processed, you should receive your passport within three days, if not sooner.
