The street address of Rick's motorbikes in Baden-Baden is Flugstrasse 1 and this name has a story.
It was actually on this site that Graf landed his air-ships whenever touring the southern area of Germany.
Originally, Baden-Baden's airport was actually a stop on the very first flight route Friedrichshafen/Baden-Baden/Mannheim.
And Anthony Fokker tested his trials here, just before they reigned over the skies on the Western Front in World War I.
2 Years ago, the airport terminal, simply a shadow of its original range and significance, commemorated 100 years, and besides the winged old school crafts, it is the low-flying motorcycles at nearby House of Custom that bring in significant particular attention.
There are always several high-class, custom motorcycles inside the large display room at Rick's and sometimes just a comparison with the original product uncovers how sophisticated Rick's motorbikes are.
When Harley-Davidson introduced the new VRSCA V-Rod, Patrick Knoerzer of Rick's Motorcycles and his team quickly made the effort to convert and improve the new model type.
Before, almost all VRSCAs was lacking tank total capacity and it was Rick's that found alternate options.
His 280 V-Rod modifications are among the preferred that can be found and tend to be in high demand from certified Harley-Davidson vendors.
But an entirely built by Rick's motorbike is something more important, as this Low Flying Rod shows.
It is quite simple to say Rick's paints the engine and frame, only if you ever took your bike totally apart to perform this task would you visualize that outstanding workload makes the whole difference between stock and rock! This motorcycle has been taken apart virtually to last component, painted, powder coated, after which put together into a low-rider muscle motorcycle.
Almost all of the Rick's V-Rod pieces has been utilized: front fender, short-cut tail end, saddle, and the tank cover up that incorporates the Speedo removed from its stock handlebar cover up place.
Just about all drivetrain pieces including rims are black as night, using the 10-1/2"-wide back wheel hosting a 280 Metzeler tire.
To place such a big tire on the stock V-Rod frame, they work with a specially designed offset lever presenting an added support bearing which takes the additional forces and many more.
Loaded with Legend air shocks, the bike could be elevated from low profile to street-burning high.
The stock bike provides an amazing 121 horses, which the 280 can solidly provide to the asphalt.
This motorcycle does not pretend to be a muscle motorbike, it's a muscle motorbike! It's hard and all set for the street, yet it's still a stock Harley-Davidson that can be repaired by any H-D dealer worldwide.
