    Colors of the Cross Necklace

    • Get six beads in the following colors: red (Christ's blood), black (sin), white (repentance), blue (water/baptism), gold (eternal life) and green (growth). Starting with 3 feet of clear necklace cord, thread the gold bead so it is in the center of the cord. Thread the green bead through both ends of the cord. Add the red bead on one side of the cord and the blue bead on the other side. Pull both ends of the cord through the black beads. Place a dot of glue on the red and blue beads and glue the white bead in between the two beads. Tie a knot against the top of the black bead and tie the ends of the cords to create a necklace to wear as a way to remember Christ throughout the new year.

    Reminder Magnet

    • Trace your hand on a piece of craft foam. Glue down the tip of every finger except for the first, or pointer, finger. Tie a bow around the tip of the pointer finger using yarn. Cut two 3-by-4-inch rectangles from craft foam and glue three of the four edges together, leaving the top open. Glue the hand to the front of the rectangles and a magnet to the back. Write your resolutions and Bible verses of encouragement on slips of paper and place them in the pocket. Stick the magnet on the refrigerator as a daily reminder of your resolutions.

    Desk Calendar

    • Take a piece of card stock and fold it into thirds. Tape the two ends of the card stock together to form a triangle. Print out blank monthly calendars so they are slightly smaller than one panel of the triangle. Punch two holes at the top of the calendars, one on each side. Attach to the front panel of the triangle using metal brads from an office supply store. Tape a piece of card stock to the calendar to the back of the triangle so that it sticks up over the top. Write Psalm 89:16, "They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness" (New International Version), on the card stock.

    Memory Verse Calendar

    • On half sheets of card stock, write the name of each month and a memory verse to learn that month. Draw a picture to represent the verse. Punch two holes at the top of each piece of card stock, one on each side, and place metal brads in them. Attach the cards to the bottom half of a full-size sheet of card stock. Give the calendar a title such as "Memory Verse Calendar" or "I Promise to Learn God's Word" by writing it on the top half of the card stock. Each month, learn the verse for that month, pulling off the verse from the previous month to expose the new verse.
