How to Update the Currency Gadget in Vista

    • 1). Click the "Start" button, and then click "Computer."

    • 2). Click the "Organize" button at the top of the Windows Explorer window, and then click "Folder and Search Options."

    • 3). Click the "View" tab. Click the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button, and remove the check from next to "Hide protected operating system files." Return these values to their original settings if desired after completing these steps. Click "OK."

    • 4). Make sure that the Currency Gadget is not currently running by closing the Sidebar or clicking the "X" icon in the upper-right corner of the gadget.

    • 5). Double-click the "Local Disk C:" icon in the Windows Explorer window.

    • 6). Browse to the "Users" folder, the folder with your Windows username, and then navigate to the "AppData," "Local," "Microsoft," "Windows Live," "Services" and "Cache" folders.

    • 7). Right-click the "Currency" folder and click "Delete." Click "Yes" to confirm.

    • 8). Re-open the Sidebar and Currency Gadget. The gadget momentarily changes to display the words "Getting Data," indicating that it is downloading updated currency information from the Internet.
