    Enable Sharing

    • 1). Open the "Start" menu on the computer to which the printer is connected and click on "Control Panel."

    • 2). Select "Printers and Other Hardware" and then click on "Printers and Faxes" to view all the printers connected to the host computer.

    • 3). Double click the icon corresponding to the printer you want to share over your WiFi network. Remember that Internet access is not necessary, as computers can connect to a local WiFi network for local file and printer access, even without an active connection to the Internet.

    • 4). Click "Share This Printer" to enable printer sharing. Click "OK."

    • 5). Right click on the printer icon in the "Printers and Faxes" window, and select "Properties." Click the "Sharing" tab, check to option to "Share Name" and click "OK." This ensures that other printers on the network can locate the networked printer by using the assigned name used on the host computer.

    Connect Client Computers

    • 1). Click the "Start" menu and open the "Control Panel" on each client computer. In the "Network Connections" control panel, verify that the computers are connected to the same WiFi network as the host computer and printer.

    • 2). Click the "Start" menu and reopen the "Control Panel."

    • 3). Double click "Printers and Other Hardware" on the client computer to view a list of all printers.

    • 4). Click the "Add a Printer" button and click "Printer Connection" to browse the network printers available on your network.

    • 5). Find the computer name (for example, OfficePC) that corresponds with the host computer and printer. Click on the computer name and locate the printer name (for example, Brother HL-2140) to which you want to connect.
