As I sit back and look over these past 15 years of matrimony, I can truly say that I am in love with my husband.
I can remember talking about my husband during a speaking engagement and one audience member said, "When you talk about him your face lights up, you act like you are sixteen and in love.
" What a great compliment.
I am in love.
No traces of the ash and I don't smell like smoke.
When God restores he takes away all of the evidence.
No bitterness or anger.
We all know that marriages are under attack and people are walking away from their families everyday.
Husbands and wives are asking the question "Why Should I Stay?" each and every day.
I've said it, my husband said it and if you are married, you may have said it.
When the question is asked, is there ever a response? Most times there is no response.
Pride kicks in and no one wants to back down.
This is a huge problem.
Instead of answering the question, "Why Should I Stay?" couples have allowed "Why Should I NOT Stay? to gain control.
Do not make the same mistakes we did.
Answer the question and talk to one another.
It may be rough in the beginning, but trust me, it will be well worth it.
What are some of the things you love about your spouse? Tell them.
What about the kids? How will they handle the separation? What about the house? This is a huge investment.
Have you said you were sorry? Did you mean it? Instead of looking at all of the negatives, focus on the positive.
Take some time and get away from all the "noise".
Find someone that you both trust and talk to them.
Be honest and deal with real issue.
Remember - Whatever you don't deal with will deal with you.
And it will surface at the worst times.
The enemy seeks to destroy the foundation, which is marriage.
But we declare that he is a liar and a voice of hope must sweep this nation! Couples need to know that in spite of their situation and in spite of what it may look like at this time, there is HOPE! You can make it! No need for separation or divorce! You will make it! If my husband and I made it, I know you can too.
