Pariet Side Effects
- Pariet works within the cells of the stomach to inhibit the the cells' ability to create stomach acid.
- Pariet is used in the treatment for ulcers, which are open sores that develop in the lining of the stomach or small intestine, causing abdominal pain.
- The most common adverse effects are headache, diarrhea and nausea. Isolated cases of asthenia, flatulence, pharyngitis, vomiting and non-specific pain have been reported.
- There have been reports of thrombocytopenia, neutropenia and leukopenia, all of which are a reduction in platelet (thrombocyte) count.
- Pariet pills should not be chewed; they need to be swallowed whole.
- If you experience any abdominal pain, blood in the urine, mouth sores or sore muscles, you should contact your doctor immediately.
