How to Recolonize the Body With Good Bacteria
- 1). Take supplements that contain beneficial bacteria such as lactobacillus acidophilus, lactobacillus bulgaricus, and streptococcus thermophilus, or eat foods such as yogurt, miso and tempeh that contain probiotics. There are also various probiotic yogurt drinks on the market that contain specific strains of good bacteria.
- 2). Avoid antibiotics whenever possible, as well as foods and medications that can stifle the growth of good bacteria. Chlorine and fluoride, which are present in most city tap water, can also prevent beneficial bacteria from thriving, so drink filtered water.
- 3). Minimize stress, which can take its toll on the good bacteria in your system. Meditate, do some deep breathing or cut back on activities that cause unnecessary anxiety.
