How Long Can a Panic Attack Last? How Long Will the Treatment Be?

103 14
The 2 burning questions on most people's minds are - how long can a panic attack last for, and how long does panic disorder last.
However there are no definite answers to that question.
Panic attack duration can vary greatly between person to person as well as in the same person.
Panic attacks can last anywhere between a few seconds to even a few hours.
But generally they last for a few minutes.
However for the person experiencing the attack, it may seem a lot longer.
Even though the actual attack may last only for a few minutes, but the effects of it like shock, dread, fear etc may stay with the person for a fairly longer period of time.
Sometimes the after-shock of a panic attack may last for a few days.
Keep in mind that every individual is different.
So if one person has panic attacks which last for a few minutes, while yours last for a longer time, it does not mean that your case is much worse than the other person's.
Do not lose hope and consider your case to be hopeless just because you have a higher frequency of attacks or your attacks last for longer time.
Also, while undergoing treatment, one person may recover from this disorder faster than others.
Here again do not lose hope or courage if other people overcome this problem faster than you.
Each individual responds to treatment at his or her own pace, so keep working on your problem till you are cured of it.
Realize that some people may take longer time than others and no need to worry about this.
The Most Important Thing Is ...
The important thing is not to worry about how long the disorder will last.
The more important thing is to do something about the disorder as quickly as possible.
Take steps to treat the disorder and follow the treatment till its completion.
There are many methods of treating this disorder ranging from taking medicines to other techniques like relaxation techniques, stress management, aromatherapy, EFT, consulting a therapist or following other panic disorder treatment plans available online or offline.
Whatever method you choose to follow, you have to give it sufficient time to see significant results.
You have to be patient and consistently follow the program and not give it up if you don't see overnight results.
