- 1). Decide how long you will be staying in India. Visas are generally issued for 6 months or 1 year, and are valid starting on the date they are issued.
- 2). Go to the link in the Resources section to find out more information on employment visas to work in India and fill out an application. Click on the "Start a New Application" button.
- 3). Decide whether you will be applying by person or via mail. Note that same-day visas must be done in person. Applications sent by mail typically take 3 to 5 business days to process from the date the application is received. Click on the appropriate button depending on how you will be applying.
- 4). Complete the application by filling in the appropriate required fields.
- 5). Gather the following documents: passport, two passport-sized pictures, proof of address, employment appointment letter, employment, contract letter, resume, organization registration and a money order/cash/credit card for processing fees.
- 6). Refer to the contact information in the Resources section for a visa processing center near you. Drop off the completed application and supporting documentation to the appropriate location, or mail the contents to the appropriate address.
