  Located on the border of Surrey and Hampshire in the U.K., southwest of London, is the small town of Frimley. With a population of just under 13,000, Frimley has the feel of most southern English rural villages but is still close enough to London to be within the city's commuter rail circuit. • The Lakeside International Hotel opened as recently as 1998, yet both the interior and exterior evoke the style of a traditional English country manor. The 90 rooms at the Lakeside International range from affordable single rooms to executive suites with separate offices. All accommodations include lakeside views, Internet access, and room service. Additional hotel amenities range from a fully-equipped fitness center and pool to multiple conference rooms and banquet halls. The Lakeside International also has an in-house restaurant that serves traditional English breakfasts, as well as a la carte lunches and dinners. Lakeside Continental Hotel

• Located next door to the Lakeside International is the Lakeside Continental Hotel, owned and maintained by the same company. The Continental, with only 68 rooms, is slightly smaller than the International and offers an option for travelers on a tighter budget. The setting is more typical of the economy roadside hotels, yet the Continental has many of the same amenities as the Lakeside International, such as high-speed Internet, an indoor swimming pool, and a fitness center. Although there are currently no dining facilities at the Continental, guests have access to the restaurant and lounge across the street at the Lakeside International.

Travelodge

• Travelodge is a household name among economy chain hotels throughout the United Kingdom. The Frimley location is similar to many of the hundreds of others in the country in that it offers affordable single and double rooms, all with private showers, televisions, and tea kettles. The Travelodge in Frimley works with and alongside the next door Toby Carvery, an English family restaurant chain serving traditional country comfort food, such as roasts and pot pies. Patrons of the Travelodge can receive discounts to the Toby Carvery and vice versa.
