Zipping Files

• 1). Select the files you want to zip by holding the "Ctrl" key while clicking them. If your files are in more than one place, it may be easier to first copy all the files to a new folder.
  
  
• 2). Right-click the files or folder and choose Send To and then Compressed (Zipped) Folder from the pop-up menu. Windows will compress the files and place the zipped file within the open Windows Explorer window.
  
  
• 3). Rename the zipped file if desired. Type the desired file name into the name's text box if it is editable, or right-click the file and choose Rename from the pop-up menu.
  
  

Unzipping Files

• 1). Double-click the zipped file to open it in Windows Explorer.
  
  
• 2). Click the "Extract all files" button. Windows opens the Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders dialog box.
  
  
• 3). Click "Browse" and locate the folder to which you want the files extracted.
  
  
• 4). Check the "Show extracted files when complete" box if you want Windows Explorer to open a new window displaying the uncompressed files after Windows extracts them.
  
  
• 5). Click the "Extract" button.
