The African Grey: The Toys

101 8
Then you get what we call puzzle toys, some are simple puzzles and some are more difficult. There are grasping toys, where the African Grey must hold on to the thing while playing with it. You can even find toys that keeps your parrot's beak in good condition, these stop your parrots beak from being too sharp at the end and are called chewing toys.

Off course, these are only a few examples and there are numerous other toys available. When it comes to parrot toys there are some safety issues, to consider. Things like for instance: ink, rubber, paint, rings, Styrofoam, and plastics.

Make sure there is always a mirror for your African Grey to communicate with himself. Also, make sure that the African Grey's enclosure is not too small and cramped, this can cause uneasiness and injury. Toys are expensive, and when making your own toys at home use non-toxic glue (just enough to get the job done). Did you ever think of what will make a good toy?

Here you can use your imagination, perhaps bright colours different textures, something challenging, not dull, keep it interesting. Try something with all the ‘bell's and whistles' that both you and your African Grey Parrot will enjoy.
