How to Turn Off Automatic Setting for Device Driver IRQ in Windows Vista

    • 1). Click the "Start" button, right-click "Computer" and select "Manage" in the menu that appears. Click the "Device Manager" option in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that appears.

    • 2). Click the "View" menu and then select the "Resources by type" item. Click the "IRQ" listing to expand the selection.

    • 3). Scroll through the list of devices under the IRQ heading on the right side of the window. Find the device that requires a manual IRQ configuration and double-click on the device. The device "Properties" window will display.

    • 4). Select the "Resources" tab, and then clear the "Use automatic settings" checkbox. Double-click on the "IRQ" item located inside the "Resource settings" box, and then change the IRQ to an IRQ that does not conflict with another device as displayed in the lower portion of the window. Press the "Enter" key, and then click the "OK" button to save the setting.
