How to Use NetMeeting With Windows XP

    • 1). Click "Start," point to "All programs" and then click "NetMeeting."

    • 2). Click the "Call" tab on the NetMeeting dialog box that opens and then click "New Call."

    • 3). Type the IP address of the person whom you want to call in the "To" box on the "Place a Call" dialog box that opens and then click the "Call" button. To find your own IP address, see the Tips section below.

    • 4). Click the "Accept" button to accept an incoming call. NetMeeting dialog box will notify you when there is an incoming call.

    • 5). Click the "Call" menu and then click "Hang Up" when you want end an active call.

    • 6). Click the "Call" menu and then click "Host Meeting" to start and host a meeting.

    • 7). Type a name for the meeting in the "Meeting Name" box on the "Host a Meeting" dialog box that opens.

    • 8). Type a password for the meeting in the "Password" box.

    • 9). Click to select the "Only you can accept incoming calls" check box if you want to screen incoming calls.

      Click to select the "Only you can place outgoing calls" check box if you want to control outgoing calls and then click "OK."

      Click the "Tools" menu and then click "Chat" to simultaneously send a message to all the people attending a meeting.

      Type your massage in the "Message" box of the Chat dialog box that opens and then press "Enter."

      Click the "Tools" menu and then click the "File Transfer" option to send a file to one or all the participants of a meeting.

      Click the "File" menu on the File Transfer dialog box that opens, click "Add Files," and then select the files that you want to send.

      Click to select the name of the people you want to send the file to from the displayed list. If you want to send the file to everyone in the list then select the "All" option.

      Click the "File" menu and then click "Send All."

      Click the "View" menu and then click "My Video" to start a video conference. You can see other people who are attending the meeting and are using a webcam with NetMeeting on your NetMeeting window.
