Qualified Dependents

• The H-4 visa admits qualified dependents of the H-1B foreign workers. Qualified dependents include spouses and unmarried children. The children must be under the age of 21.
  
  

Length of Stay

• The H-4 visa is applicable for the duration of the H-1B foreign worker's visa. If the H-1B foreign worker leaves the country, the H-4 dependents will lose their visa as well.
  
  

Restrictions

• Although visitors to the United States on H-4 visas may participate in education opportunities, they are not permitted to engage in any type of employment.
