How to Apply Satin Paint
- 1). Prepare the walls for painting by washing them with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and dish soap. Remove any nails and fill any holes with putty.
- 2). Tape off the trim or places where you don't want the paint applied. Prime the walls if you need to cover up the previous color.
- 3). Get your satin paint ready for painting. Shake up your paint bucket, open the lid and use the stir stick to mix up your paint one more time.
- 4). Pour your satin paint into your painting tray and leave room for your roller to sit.
- 5). Put your roller pad onto your roller handle and dip it into your paint. Roll the roller back and forth until the roller is covered in paint. If you are using a brush, make one giant brush stroke.
- 6). Coat your entire painting surface with the roller. Spread the paint as evenly as possible and do not repeat where you have already painted until the paint has dried. It makes a soft satin sheen on your wall when dry.
- 7). Apply as many coats as desired to make a smooth even surface, letting dry thoroughly between each coat.
