Soothing Table Top Fountains

Amid the rigors & stresses of a busy working day, people need to take their minds off things for even just a while during break time.
There are many ways of doing this but nothing tops the sight and sound of water to soothe the beast within.
I'm talking of the effects of a tabletop water fountain right inside your own office.
These table fountains are miniature, landscaped gardens designed to mimic the features of a large-scale fountain complete with the same materials used such as rocks, pebbles, and sand, even real plants.
These pieces are a big hit with yuppies especially those familiar with the characteristics of a Zen landscape.
But if you are not so crazy about meditation, studies have proven that the auditory experience of running water can calm most individuals.
You don't need to have a background on meditation in order to enjoy the sight of water filling up a bamboo pitcher then decanting into a pond & the sound of water trickling over rocks.
Basing on the discipline of Feng Shui, a fountain is a good thing because it brings in the vital essence of this element into the place.
All that has to be done is to place it in the correct position and the positive energy will come in.
There are a lot of designs to choose from.
There's the bamboo pitcher mentioned earlier where the laws of physics are being demonstrated.
The bamboo jug is slowly being filled with water, when the weight of the water causes it to swivel on its joints it tips to pour the water out, in the process it creates a thumping sound as it hits against another bamboo stem.
The whole cycle continues creating a steady constant rhythm.
Then there's one where the water flows down from a tiny mountain of rock imitating nature.
It looks like a miniature brook.
Then there's another design where the physical laws are again utilized to create beauty.
A marble sphere is being rolled around by the gush of water.
It demonstrates the transfer of energy from the resilient water to the sturdy marble orb.
Some of them even have dramatic lighting installed so that the globe would look like an otherworldly planet in the dark.
Other fountains are pretty simple with the water weeping down a textured dam creating a curtain of shimmering wall.
Then there's the traditional scene of a country house with a water wheel on the side churning out in a steady pace.
