Nova Friburgo's central square, designed by French landscape designer Auguste François Marie Glaziou (August 30, 1828 - 1906).

Jan.20, 2011 Update: The square was severely damaged by the rains as the Bengalas River, which crosses town, overflowed and mud came down from the surrounding slopes. The whole central area was covered with water, mud and debris.
