- 1). Remove the spool cover from the front of the Zebco Omega reel. Turn the cover to unlock it, then pull it straight away from the reel body.
- 2). Hold the reel under fresh running water to rinse any saltwater, debris and dirt from the reel and spool.
- 3). Allow the reel to dry before oiling. Use a can of compressed air to blow dry part of the reel and a rag to dry the exterior.
- 4). Apply oil to all accessible moving parts of the reel. Use a quality reel oil to lubricate the bail and bail pick up.
- 5). Apply oil to the reel handle and the connection point between the reel body and handle.
- 6). Wipe down exterior metal parts of the reel to impart a light film of oil to help displace any remaining moisture. Assemble the spool cover back onto the reel.
