Choosing Your Topic- When you have a family or favorite petss this can be the hardest decision you make.
Good luck with that and Welcome to your new addiction! - Scrapbooking!! Have you been involved in anyscrapbookingyet?JUST A WARNING it can become really addictive! It can become quite hard to walk past the craft shops, newsagencies and especially the specialty scrapbooking shops, once you have started this hobby.
Scrapbooking for the beginner can be a bit daunting, and we will try and clear some of the fog for you.
LET'S START CREATING A PAGE STUDY YOUR PHOTO - before you start your page you need to study your photo for color and shapes and subject focus.
In choosing your page colors you can relate these back to your photo and look for contrast or compliment to highlight your photo.
Layout a few before you start pasting just to make sure you don't LOSE your photo in the background.
COLOR COMBINING - keep your scrapbook interesting.
Once you have decided on your basic color theme you next need to look for complimentary or contrasting colors to liven up your pages.
Don't just make it a mash of colors, stick with one main color or two contrasting colors and with either of these add a little highlighter colors.
You may be looking for the background pages and use your basic color to highlight, or you may do it the other way around, using your basic color scheme for the background page and tricking it up with contrast colors and patterns.
PATTERN COMBINATIONS - this can be a very personal choice as we all like different shapes, colors and shades of certain colors.
Keep your pages interesting with circles, stripes, triangles and even torn paper for the rough and tumble photos.
It is nothing to use up to 3 patterns to make a very interesting page.
(I wouldn't use more than that or it will detract from your your photos.
) EMELLISHING YOUR PAGE - again decide whether you want to blend or highlight with your embellishments.
A tip that we always us in the art field is to keep your numbers uneven - 1,3,5,7 etc.
This doesn't matter whether you are using flowers buttons or whatever.
Pay attentionto your embellishments so that they match the photo - no point in putting a fluffy embellishment next to hubby chopping the wood! Try your embellishments before your stick them on your work.
ENJOY AND COLLECT (collect anything - become a order of bits and pieces!), even go through the rellies cupboards if necessary, especially if they are into crafts or sewing!
