How to Repair Cetec Vega Microphones
- 1). Unfasten the top of your Cetec Vega microphone by hand by twisting it off the "stem," or body, of the mic.
- 2). Locate the microphone itself, a plastic tubular component with short wires running into the microphone body. Inspect each wire inside the Cetec Vega; one or both will be broken.
- 3). Plug-in and heat up a soldering gun.
- 4). Clamp the Cetec Vega microphone in a table vice.
- 5). Melt flux onto the broken wire(s) using the soldering gun to reconnect them; wipe away excess flux with a rag immediately.
- 6). Allow the flux to harden for three to five minutes, repairing the internal wires.
- 7). Replace the top of the Cetec Vega microphone and connect it to an amplifier, using a microphone cable to test it.
