- 1). Unplug the refrigerator. Move all jars, bottles and containers off the door shelf onto the main shelves.
- 2). Tape the refrigerator door closed using masking tape so that it will not open while you work on the hinges.
- 3). Remove the screws holding the middle hinge, between the freezer and fresh food door, to the cabinet of the refrigerator; lift the hinge up and out of its hold on top of the door.
- 4). Remove the masking tape. Tilt the door forward and lift it off the bottom hinge. Place the damaged door to one side.
- 5). Carefully place the new door on the bottom hinge and use masking tape to keep it in the closed position.
- 6). Insert the old hinge into the slot on top of the door and line it back up with the screw holes. Tighten the screws back in place and remove the masking tape. The new door is now ready for use; load the door shelves and reconnect the power.
