- 1). Remove the reel handle by gripping the reel and turning the handle counterclockwise. This will free the handle from the reel.
- 2). Unseat the reel spool by unscrewing the drag control and lifting the spool from the reel.
- 3). Use the screwdriver to remove the screws from the reel cover plate and lift the plate from the reel.
- 4). Use the screwdriver to remove the screws from the gear set inside the reel.
- 5). Use the adjustable wrench to remove the nut that was formerly covered by the spool and slide the gear post out of the top of the reel.
- 6). Remove the reel bail by unscrewing all of the screws and gently dislodging the bail from the reel.
