Better Team - 2009 Colts Or 2007 Patriots?

The 2009 Indianapolis Colts are attempting to make history.
While the 2007 Patriots finished the regular season with an undefeated record, this was a huge deal as it was only the second time a team had ever achieved that.
This once in a generation event might be about to repeat itself in 2009.
While the season isn't yet done, the Colts have marched out to a 14-0 start, giving them a very realistic chance to finish the season with a 16-0 record.
The Patriots ultimately fluttered in the playoffs, losing in a shocker to the Giants at the Super Bowl.
Very few had expected this, but the implosion that occurred during this game put a major blemish on the otherwise perfect season of the Patriots.
Can the Colts finish out the season with a 16-0 record and be deemed a more successful team than the 2007 Pats were by winning the Super Bowl? This is a debate that is sure to pick up steam if the Colts wind up finishing the season with an undefeated record.
You'll likely see people on both sides of the debate, making it a hotly discussed topic that we may very well hear a lot about during the course of the next month or so.
The Patriots dominated their competition both offensively and defensively.
Tom Brady and Randy Moss had seasons that would make any stat junkie go wild, and the rest of the team had some great contributions as well.
Most of the team's wins were blowouts, some by 40 or more points.
This put a major emphasis on each game that the team played.
On the other hand, the Colts have won some very close games, but they've faced fierce competition.
The steady hand of Peyton Manning may be the best of our generation, and possibly one of the greatest of all time.
Should the Colts finish this off by winning a Super Bowl, it's fair to say that many will declare them as the victor in this battle.
