- 1). Right-click an empty area of the Windows taskbar. A pop-up menu will appear.
- 2). Click "Task Manager" from the pop-up window. If you cannot access the Windows taskbar, which could be the case if "explorer.exe" is no longer running, then hold the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys and press "Delete." This launches Task Manager directly.
- 3). Click the tabs to access their functions. You can also click "File" and "New Task (Run...) to invoke the "Run" dialog box. Type "explorer.exe" (without quotes) and press "Enter" to restart the program, if you could not access your Windows taskbar previously.
