My expert Mark Harman had some great tips on choosing the right putter and exactly which ones to buy. So, I've decided to create more value and grab some reviews on the Putters Mark recommended. If you're interested in more info on these Putters just send me your name and email.

If I don't get many takers I won't put up the Putter reviews and just go back to how to Putting articles and interviews with experts.

Just send your email and first name to: markgrove1@mail.com

There is no obligation and I won't spam you. Nor am I some scammer.

Yeah, I very well could be. Do you think so. if not I'll see you next time.

How To Pick The Right Putter From A Pro's Perspective–That Being Mark Harman

I get emails from guys who want to know what kind of putter they should use.

A lot of us are lay-downs for the newest technology in Putters including me and my brothers. I don't play as I've said, I just love the game.

So, I went to an expert to ask him what kind of putter we should use and buy. Mark Harman a Golf Pro and Course Director of  The US Golf Teachers Federation is one of my experts.  Remember, I'm not an expert guys I just love this game!

I love Mark's take on stuff about Putting. It's contrarian to what most golfers think,  and he's right on the money in most cases.  So I shot him an email about it, and in less than a day had an answer to this important question on picking the right putter.

Mark even gave himself some kudos about what others thought of his Putting prowess. We all have to toot our horn a bit guys. We're the only ones who can do it.  I have also sent this question to my Canadian expert and hopefully I'll have it up here with Mark's different take on picking the right putter.

Okay, here is Mark's take. I hope you use his expertize to help you pick the right putter. Thanks again Mark.

Picking a putter for a beginner or an advanced golfer is two different things.  For a beginner, almost any putter will do.  The most important thing for beginners is to be fit for the putter.  Most putters come in 34-35? lengths.  This works well if you're six feet tall or taller, but not for shorter players.  I would recommend fitting a 35? putter to a six-footer, and for every inch you are shorter than this, cut your putter down 1/2? in length.

For example, someone 5'6? would use a 32? putter.  For advanced players, in addition to the length, the putter must fit the stroke.  If a player tends to take the putter straight back and straight through, a face-balanced putter is best.  You know a putter is face-balanced when you rest the shaft at the balance point on your finger and the clubface is facing directly upwards, parallel with the ground.  If a player tends to putt with an arcing path, a putter such as an Anser or blade type (ones that are not face-balanced) tends to work best.  You can tell these putters because, as you are looking down the shaft from the grip end, the shaft points closer to the heel than to the toe, whereas a face-balanced putter points to the putter head directly between the heel and toe.

And Here is Mark's Take On If A Putters Works For You, and his Take on His Putting Prowess:  A Little Kudos To your Putting Never Hurt

What matters most is not the technology, but whether you like the putter and it works for you.  I still putt with a putter I got in 1995, and if I can put some modesty aside,  I've had no less than Boo Weekley and Adam Shreiber (Anthony Kim's teacher) both tell me my short game and putting are among the best they've ever seen.  Now, if I could only get that tee-to-green thing down…

Thanks Again Mark.  Now to get my other expert to answer this question.

If your putter works for you don't change.  If not use Mark's advice.
