How to Make a Beard in Photoshop
- 1). Load the photograph you want to use onto your computer. You can do this by connecting your digital camera to your computer directly, or you can scan in the photograph using a scanner set to its highest possible resolution.
- 2). Open Photoshop. Select "File" and click "Open. In the dialog that opens browse to the photograph that you saved to your hard drive. If the scanned image was a bit small, select "Image" and then "Image Size." In the dialog box that pops up, change the "Interpolation" to "Bicubic Smoother." Then increase the pixel width, height and resolution to suit your needs. Click "OK."
- 3). Select the "Polygonal Lasso" tool and use it to select an area you want to add beard hair to. It is best to work in stages while doing this. So select only a small area of the face to add the hair to.
- 4). Select "Filter" and scroll down to the "Eyecandy 4000" plug-in in and click on "Fur." In the dialog the opens, click on the "Settings" and select one of the presets, such as "Long and Flowing" or "Short and Straight." Adjust the settings on the left (such as the "Angle," "Density" and "Curl") to suit your needs. When you like the preview click "OK."
- 5). Repeat steps 3 and 4, selecting a different are each time, and changing things like the "Density" and the "Angle." Revisit these steps as many times as it takes to get the beard the way you want it to look. Save your work.
