How to Replace Kohler Water Faucets

104 4
    • 1). Turn off the water in your home by closing the house's main water valve.

    • 2). Disassemble the faucet by first taking off both handles. Locate the screw that attaches the handles to the faucet base and unscrew it, using an Allen wrench. This screw is located on the top or side of the decorative handles underneath a cap. Pull out the cap to unscrew the screw. Next, slide the handle up and off the faucet.

    • 3). Unscrew the adjusting ring (the round nut under the handle), using a pair of pliers, and remove this part. Remove any adapters or extensions as well. These parts slide right off --- simply lift them up and remove them. Take out the cartridge by pulling it out of the base of the faucet.

    • 4). Unscrew the screws that attach the base of the faucet underneath the sink to the base of the vanity. Pull out the base, and remove the hoses from the T-connector underneath the sink bowl. Remove the lock nut under the spout of the faucet by unscrewing the screws with a screwdriver. Lift the spout off the vanity.

    • 5). Install the new faucet by inserting the handle bases into the sink mount holes, replacing the old mounts you previously removed. Insert the spout into the mounting holes as well. Tighten the lock nuts to secure the spout and handles to the vanity.

    • 6). Connect the hoses to the base of the handles and tighten the connectors by turning to the right. Connect the other end of the hoses to the T-connector underneath the spout, and tighten the connectors by turning to the right.

    • 7). Turn on the water and test the faucets. If leaks occur, tighten the lock nuts underneath the vanity, or remove the handles and inspect the cartridges for damage. Replace them if necessary, or tighten the adjusting rings to secure the cartridges in place.
